Within 2 business hours — a real conversation
We ask what you are seeing, how old the roof or chimney is, whether there is active water inside, and whether an insurance claim is involved. Active interior water moves you to the front of the schedule; a planning-ahead replacement gets a normal slot.
Usually within 48 hours — the inspection
A foreman arrives in a marked truck, gets on the roof where it is safe, photographs the failure points, checks attic ventilation and decking from below when there is access, and measures. It takes 45 to 90 minutes depending on the size and pitch of the house.
Same or next day — the itemized estimate
You receive a line-item scope by email with the photo set attached: tear-off, decking allowance, underlayment, ice-and-water, flashing, ventilation, disposal, and your town's permit fee listed separately. It stays valid 30 days.
If you move forward — permits and a date
We file with your building department, coordinate around their inspection calendar, and give you a firm install window plus a weather contingency day. Material drops the morning of, not weeks early on your driveway.
Emergencies — tarp first, paperwork second
For a storm opening or an active leak we will tarp to stop the water and document the damage with dated photos before anything is repaired. That documentation is what an adjuster needs, and doing repairs before it exists costs homeowners claim money every year.

Is the inspection really free, and is there a catch?
It is free and there is no obligation. We will tell you when a roof has five good years left, because a repair customer today is a replacement customer later, and we would rather keep the relationship than sell you something early.
Do you handle the permit, or do I?
We file it. Most North Jersey towns require a permit for a roof replacement, and several require the contractor's HIC registration and insurance certificate on file before they will issue it. A closed permit also matters when you sell the house.
Do you work with insurance claims?
Regularly. We document with dated photographs, meet the adjuster on site when you want us there, and price to the actual scope. We do not offer to waive deductibles — that is insurance fraud in New Jersey, and any contractor offering it is telling you how they run the rest of the job.
How far do you travel?
Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex and Union counties are our core service area, which covers most of North Jersey within about 30 minutes of the shop. Outside that we will still look, but scheduling gets less flexible.
Can you do a repair instead of a full replacement?
Yes, and it is a large share of our work. Flashing leaks, a few storm-damaged courses, a cracked chimney crown, or a failed gutter run are all repairs. We only recommend a full replacement when the field of the roof is at the end of its life.
